When this product fits

For UK merchants needing tracked returns, a label portal and a collection option. Decide how the label will be supplied before giving the customer a collection instruction.

How the return moves

  1. Create the approved Tracked Returns label and keep its merchant reference.

  2. Choose Labels to Go at an eligible point or arrange the applicable Parcel Collect option.

  3. Retain the accepted parcel or collection record alongside the tracking number.

Available operating channels

Method tags show documented options. They depend on the selected country, merchant setup and hand-in channel; an absent tag does not mean a service is unavailable.

Label and hand-in requirements

Tracked Returns gives UK merchants tracking and an online label portal. Labels to Go supports printing at participating Post Office branches or Royal Mail customer service points; Parcel Collect provides a collection option. For an already supplied return label, follow the collection instructions and affix the required postage label: a QR code alone is not an attached shipping label.

The exception to design around

A QR code on a phone does not itself place a postage label on a collected parcel. Follow the actual booking, including any explicitly available Bring My Label option.

How to scope the transport and handling cost

Start with the real parcel profile and route. Ask who holds the carrier account, who issues labels and who receives the transport invoice. Compare the complete return movement with warehouse work priced separately. A customer-facing free return still has a payer behind it.

  • Origin postcode, receiving postcode and expected parcels per month.
  • Packed weight and dimensions, product category and any restricted contents.
  • Selected hand-in channel, printing arrangement and collection requirements.
  • Transport charges, relevant surcharges, customs work and failed-return handling.

Records that make a return traceable

Connect the order or RMA to the transport reference before the parcel leaves the customer. A portal request, carrier acceptance scan and warehouse receipt describe different events. Keep each one so customer service can identify where an exception occurred.

  • Return approval and the exact label or code issued.
  • Proof of hand-in or completed collection and the tracking reference.
  • Actual warehouse arrival, parcel condition and item-count reconciliation.
  • Inspection findings and the merchant’s approved next action.
Clear information for your next decision

What happens after carrier delivery

At the agreed receiving location, PickPaket’s handling scope is set for your project. Decide what must be recorded at arrival and which work can proceed automatically. Stock that needs a decision stays linked to its original reference.

Receive and reconcile

Match the parcel to its reference, record the agreed arrival information and separate unmatched or damaged arrivals for review.

Receiving & storage

Inspect to an agreed brief

Specify the checks, photos and grading criteria before work starts. Appearance checks, accessory counts and functional testing have different scopes.

Product checks

Release the next movement

Approve storage, repacking, restocking where applicable, or consolidation. Reconcile the release list before booking onward transport.
