Customer returns from France

Build the French return journey around the receiving address and the instructions actually issued to the customer. Colissimo and Mondial Relay provide different ways to start and hand in a return. The useful comparison includes label preparation, access to an accepted location and the evidence that will connect the parcel to warehouse records.

Choose the Colissimo hand-in journey

Colissimo Retour Online distinguishes supported QR hand-in from mailbox collection. The mailbox route uses a printed label and a collection request. Decide which journey you will offer before sending customer instructions; a convenient point on a map is useful only when it accepts the issued product.

For the merchant brief, name the receiving country, label issuer and person responsible for a failed hand-in. Check the packed parcel against the chosen channel. If mailbox collection cannot be completed, give the customer an agreed alternative rather than leaving them to choose another service independently.

Keep Mondial Relay instructions tied to the seller

Mondial Relay directs customers wishing to return an order to the sender for the procedure. Treat that as the start of the operational chain: identify the order, approve the return and provide the exact label or supported code with its accepted hand-in channel.

A seller-provided return instruction and a newly purchased shipment are different arrangements. Confirm the receiving address and payer before substituting one for the other. Write down what customer service should do when the selected location is unavailable or the code is rejected, so an exception does not produce an untraceable second booking.

Connect hand-in evidence to receiving work

Mondial Relay describes an email acceptance record for staffed hand-in. Ask the customer to retain the confirmation actually produced by their selected channel and keep its transport reference with the order or RMA.

At the receiving location, match that reference to the arrival record and record any missing identifiers before inspection. A carrier delivery event does not count the contents or approve a refund. Agree the required photos, item quantities and next-action authority in advance; unmatched parcels should remain identifiable while the merchant supplies a decision.

Products for returns from France

These products document the customer’s return origin. The receiving country, merchant account and exact hand-in method must also fit the route. Network coverage alone does not confirm a bookable return.

Before you issue labels

  • Confirm the French origin and full receiving address before choosing a domestic or cross-border label.
  • Give one coherent instruction for the label or code, accepted location and failed-hand-in response.
  • Keep the order or RMA linked to transport acceptance and the warehouse arrival record.
  • Specify item checks, photos, exception approval and the release list for any onward movement.

Local return questions

Can the same QR instructions cover every French return?

Use the instructions for the product actually issued. Colissimo separates QR hand-in and printed-label mailbox collection. For another carrier, confirm the seller’s return procedure instead of carrying the first carrier’s code instructions across to it.

What if the customer cannot use the selected hand-in point?

Ask which location and code were attempted and retain any rejection information. Confirm a permitted alternative through the label issuer before another parcel booking is created. Update the customer instruction and keep the replacement reference linked to the original return.

Does proof of hand-in establish what the warehouse received?

It records the transport handover, not the counted contents. Keep acceptance evidence alongside arrival reconciliation and the agreed inspection findings. The merchant then applies its own authorised refund or stock decision using those separate records.
